The year 2023 marks a turning point in the history of the Alexis Pentcheff gallery, which is moving its historic premises from rue Paradis to the small port of Malmousque.
Over the last two and a half years, the gallery has embarked on a major renovation programme to restore a unique site, the Pavillon de la Reine Jeanne in Malmousque. This exceptional site, clinging to a rock and facing the sea, now offers a wonderful setting for the works of Mediterranean painters.
To mark the opening of this new gallery, Alexis and Giulia Pentcheff have organised an inaugural exhibition, bringing together some of the finest works by the artists the gallery has loved and exhibited for over ten years.
The exhibition catalogue sets out the gallery's plans for its new home at the Pavillon de la Reine Jeanne, as well as the works it will be selling. These include works by Provençal painters such as David Dellepiane, Armand Guillaumin, Pierre Bonnard, Henri Lebasque, André Lhote and Pierre Auguste Renoir.
